LeBron James teased a Los Angeles pizza party appearance, but didn’t show up

LeBron James had a pizza party with all of Los Angeles! And he teased that he would be there. The only problem is that he didn’t show up.
Up until Monday afternoon, LeBron hadn’t personally mentioned Los Angeles on social media. Klutch Sports, his agency, made the announcement that he was signing with the Lakers on his behalf, and LeBron’s social media only referenced him saying goodbye to Cleveland via his Instagram story. Ever since news broke that he would join the Lakers, fans have been waiting to see what he would say on Twitter or Instagram.
This tweet doesn’t even mention the Lakers directly, but he had a better surprise for basketball fans in Los Angeles. Every Blaze Pizza in the area would be handing out free pizza to celebrate him joining the Lakers. He hadn’t signed his contract but this became his unofficial contract signing. His official contract signing came a few hours later.
Fans lined up at the Culver City location, hoping that The King would make an appearance. He’s a large stakeholder of the franchise and he’s even worked a shift at a Blaze Pizza, casually moving boxes and talking to customers while pretending he wasn’t the NBA superstar passersby claimed he was.
But that didn’t happen this time around. Fans made a line long before 2 p.m. and waited after the free pizza offer was over but still, no LeBron. He didn’t show up
LeBron will not be showing up for the Blaze Pizza party here, an employee just announced.

We did find out what LeBron was doing instead of driving to Culver City. He was hanging out in an inflatable donut in a pool.
This is honestly the most LA thing LeBron could do: tease that he’s going to be at a certain place, not show up, and then get caught on social media just hanging out. The only way it could have been more Angeleno would be if he complained about the 405 freeway or brought up a recent Sig Alert, both of which could be brought up in LeBron’s tenure as a Laker in the future.
